Time

Time runs..it runs fast, too fast. But we all know that, nothing knew. Just wish it would have run like this when I was engaged and not so much when I am married. Eleven weeks, what in the world is that about? Oh and I'm married, at 21!!!! Just getting that out there..cuz I still cant believe that a year after I came back from Israel I had one foot out the door to go back..who knew that a year later I would be married and..married. Hashem really does work in interesting ways.

I heard a shiur this past Cheshvan, on the Yartzeit of Rachel Imeinu. The topic was time. The Rebbetzin ( I do not remember her name) said that we have the power to sanctify time. But not only that, but that all time is leading to somewhere. To where? To moshiach. All of the time that we spend preparing for shabbos, davening, saying tehilim..this is all a part of yearning for moshiach..yearning for geula..yearning for a time that will be a shabbos for all eternity. When will that time come Abba?

Monday night begins Tisha B'Av. The saddest day of our calender year. Chazal call this day a "moed", a meeting between klal Yisroel and Hashem, they say that Moshiach is born on this day, that when he comes it will be the most joyous day in our calender, more joyous even than Purim. Again I ask, when will this day become joyous? Because for now we are still preparing to fast, to sit on the floor, to read/hear megilas Eichah...When will we once more be allowed to rebuild YOUR home Abba. The beis Hamikdash is YOUR home!!!! You are in each and every one of us, we can reach you and feel you and talk to you and walk beside at any given moment, at any time that we desire, but the Beis Hamikdash is where we ALL came to talk to you together..one man with one heart. It was a "place" to meet with you..as Tisha B'Av is a "time" to meet with you. We fast and mourn and cry because we feel stuck, we dont see the light at the end of the tunnel Abba. All we see is darkness and destruction, of Yidden being attacked, of our land being given away for peace and then being used for war. We feel on this day not only the destruction of a physical building...but of a spiritual eye. Chazal say that this past shabbos, parshas Devarim, shabbos Chazon our neshamos SEE the third Beis Hamikdash. When will we see with our eyes as well? Why on this particular Shabbos? I am going to take a crack at answering my own question...This is the shabbos where the Yidden in the Midbar..the second generation from Har Sinai are standing opposite the Yarden, being prepared by Moshe to enter the land of Israel, to conquer the land of Israel. A nation stood, ready to fight for Hashem and with Hashem. We today, the furthest generation from Har Sinai also stand opposite the Yarden, ready to fight for Hashem and with Hashem, although as a nation we are not united. And so on this Shabbos, as we begin the journey into Israel and as we prepare ourselves for Tisha B'Av; even though each year we do not know whether it will be sad or joyous; Hashem, in His infinite mercy shows us, each and every one of us, a vision of the third Beis Hamikdash, to renew us, to revive us, to help us stay strong in this, our darkest hour as a nation, on this the brink of the Geulah Shleyma, on the Shabbos preceding Tisha B'Av. He is making it a reality, it is not just some figment of our imagination!!! Hashem is showing this vision to our neshamos because that is where our REAL vision is!! When you look into a person's eyes, really look, your neshama sees their neshama, because that is true vision. Hashem is asking us, begging us, pleading us, to fight to see the rebuilding of the third Beis Hamikdash, He is showing us the light at the end of the tunnel.

The TIME will come, the TIME IS coming, Moshiach and the Third Beis Hamikdash are coming..We just have to keep our faith.

May this Tisha B'Av 5770 be a day of rejoicing and singing in Yerushalayim, Ir Hakodesh, Amein.
