Tests. We all have them, we all take them. There are physical ones and spiritual ones. Today I am going to take a physical one.
Something special is in happening in my life Baruch Hashem. Something very special. But it is in limbo. It can not really move anywhere without the results of this test. The results take about 2 to 3 weeks, they will become available while I am on the other side of the universe. The result of this test can either ruin my special thing now, or they can ruin my family later (worst case scenarios) or they can be good and we can all breathe easy. It is a big deal. It is a big test.
No I cant tell her, I cant tell her because that would mean admitting that I am at the mercy of these test results. It is too much to say out loud. It is too much to think about yet.
And yet, we all take tests. We either pass or fail. But none of us are spared from tests. And we usually grow from the process. I am supposed to grow from this. I am supposed to use my emunah.
Our Avos and Emahos went through numerous tests, that went through all the tests so that they could create banners for us, signposts so that we can pass our many tests. Yitchak Avinu's akeida was a very physical test. The whole Jewish nation rested on this test. And yet neither Avraham not Yitzchak flinched. They knew that this was Hashem's ratzon. That no matter what He had a plan, He has a reason for everything. They were not worried or scared because they knew with all of their hearts and souls that everything would be ok. That is the difference between emunah and bitachon. Emunah is believing and knowing that Hashem is there for you always. Bitachon is falling backwards and allowing Him to catch you. Its the physical manifestation of Emunah.
Yaakov has a physical test this week Vayishlach. He fights with the spiritual Eisav. And even though he gets injured, the fight changes him. He is no longer the same person he was before it. He becomes Yisroel/ ישראל (Yitchak, Sarah, Rachel, Avraham, Leah). He now has the power of all our Avos and Emahos, and we do as well. We are Bnei Yisroel. We carry each one of them in our DNA. They are a part of us. Any time we need to we can tap into their specialness.
Right now, that is what I need to do. And I give you all a brocha that you are able to connect to ישראל whenever you need, and through that connection and manifestation we are able to bring the geula shleyma, bimheira byameinu, Amen!
Love & Trust
The other side of love is trust. Love is how you feel to another. Trust is your response to the other's love.
Your own love may have slumbered into hibernation, so deep you cannot even find its den. There is no need: You have trust that the other holds love inside, and in that trust, your own love awakens.
So it is with two good friends. So it is with any marriage. So it is with a child and a parent.
So it is with the love affair between your soul and her Beloved above. Trust, and you will find love.
Shabbat Shalom U'Mevorach!
